St Petersburg

For all you culture vultures the tour of great museums continues with a trip to the Hermitage in St Petersburg. If you would like to check out the collection:

The city reminds me a bit of Paris in the seventies. It is delightfully frayed at the edges. The architecture has the patina of the passage of time unlike Paris which is just like new.

also featured is the restoration of "Danae". The painting that someone through acid on. What is up with that?
                              Not great shots but these Vuillard's were absolutely wonderful.

  1. such gorgeous details - incredible mosaics (looking like paintings at first glance). and Malevich! Ah. Not to mention Johnny in such a characteristic Johnny-pose - have seen him looking like this (shoulders a little hunched, focused on some creative book / art / project -thingy in front of him) so many times. xo
